Moments With Marti

I love sharing what God has done in my life and the lessons that I have learned from each experience whether good or bad. There are many lessons that I have and am still learning. It's only been by His Grace that I can sit here today and without a doubt know that I am forever secure in His Love.
This blog is simply an avenue for me to share my heart felt thoughts from scripture as well as from my every day moments…My prayer is that there will be a small nugget of hope and encouragement that you can apply to your life as well.

Upon getting a test to check my carotid arteries, the tech was telling me that although she could only see the part in my neck, that what she saw there would tell her what to expect down closer to my heart. She went on to explain that what she was looking for was a build up of “plaque”…plaque could clog the blood flow through the arteries and eventually cause a heart attack or stroke.
That fact stuck with me the rest of the day.

The Bible tells us in 1 Samuel 16:10 that “…the Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Keeping this thought close to my heart, I have pondered it and pondered it…. So I’ve questioned myself as to what does God really see in “my” heart? And, what “things” do others see on the outside? Do my actions as well as my lifestyle reveal what is truly in my heart?

What kind of plaque is clogging up the arteries that lead the the "true me"?
Is there the plaque of bitterness......discontent......selfishness and anger?

Or are my arteries clean so that love, peace and joy can flow freely into and out of my heart?

Just "what" does my lifestyle really reveal about who I am and what is in my heart......?

What about your lifestyle? Does the way you live your life reveal what is truly in “your” heart?

God knows……do you?
